Sex - Tulip style
Pistil and Stamens
I think this photo at the top actually is a quite sexy picture of the center of a Tulipa showing multiple connate carpels, a compound pistil, surrounded by stamens.
intimate...
less revealing...

With a Scent och Lemon and Saffron
I just want to show you this remarkable out of the ordinary tulip, not like any other in my mixed tulip bouquet. It does not really look like a tulip more like a Peony with its feathery leaves and it is fragrant like my white Peonies too, a scent of lemon and saffron, very interesting indeed. Name? Unfortunatly no name but it looks like a Mondial double tulip although Mondial is more white in

Mauve Taupe
Magical Pale 'Mauve Taupe' Pinks
Pale pink sun trying to break through... but no. Beautiful icicles in pale pink hanging from the roof some of them are almost a metre long and some pale mauve pink tulips at the end.
"Mauve (pronounced /ˈmoʊv/ (British), rhymes with "grove"; from the French form of Malva 'mallow' is a pale lavender-lilac color, one of many in the range of purples. Mauve is

Much to much of the colour of white!
It is much to much of the colour of white in my garden at the moment and the sky...it is totally grey today, I'm so tired of gloomy weather...I need something positive to brighten up my day. As I was browsing my photos I found these wonderful roses. Now this is what I call a happy-pill. Thank you Claus for adding some lovely pink colours to this Blooming Friday I don't know the names

This was a glorious winter day but frightfully bitter cold. -20 C. A nice walk and some fun in the snow playing with icicles and making snow angels.Kylan

December blooms - Hyacinthus orientalis
Today we have had a terrible winter storm with up to gale force wind and heavy snowfall. It was a complete chaos in the traffic with a total stand still for the busses. Luckily I could convince my colleagues that they could cope without me and my boss said yes. As a result I have had a wonderful day baking a loaf of fruit bread, taking a long bath, doing some tidying among clothes that I never

On my windowsill I have a lot of orchids and this one has such a pretty colour, almost Christmas red. I cannot think of a winter flowering plant that is more durable and that
