Queen of Light - Autumn song
...for this is the turning of the year, the final scene before the curtain falls. Autumn song - Epilogue Today I've had a song in my head it was the Autumn song by Magna Carta from the Seasons album. This is an album I often listen to even though it is very old, it must be from the late sixtees. Well, it is now the last days of September and the Autumn song- the Epilogue of my garden begins. This

A GARDENERS WRAP
A Gardeners Gift WrapTo wrap a present is so fun, I really do enjoy it and this time I wanted to do something different, I went for a stroll in the garden and ended up with this. I just adores the seed capsules of the Papaver, I think they are most fascinating, each one is a small work of art. They are so beautiful therefore I started out with the Papaver then...... TODAY I'M FILTHY RICH...
NOT!Gold, gold, everywhere and I got it for free! When I was a small girl we call the leaves golden coins. Sometimes I still think of them as gold coins consequently you can imagine that at this time of the year I'm really filthy rich :-) ...Today was the day of the colour Ochre in my garden. Ochre or Ocher (pronounced /'əʊ.kə(r)/, from the Greek ὠχρός, yellow) is a color, usually described as

RED
Falu red or in Swedish we call it Faluröd is the name of the beautiful Swedish, deep red paint well known for its use on wooden cottages and barns. The paint originated from Falun in Dalarna ( copper mine) , Sweden. The traditional colour remains popular today due to it's effectiveness in preserving wood it is absolutely fantastic. Easy to paint and it doesn't smell. The earliest evidence of its

MISTY
I just want to show you this beautiful October morning. I haven't got many garden ornament but here are a few, the sundail, the crown and my gazebo :-) När jag vaknade i morse låg det fortfarande dimmor nere på ängen nedanför min trädgård. Tänk att jag älskar verkligen min trädgård på morgonen, jag vet inte riktigt varför men det är nog lugnet och den friska luften. Här är några bilder tagna

Dahlia 'Harvest' - tubers and seeds
It's late September and the frost can come any night now, that means that I have to dig up all my Dahlia plants, it’s so sad that indicates that the summer has definitely ended and the autumn takes giant leaps towards the winter. Time to dig in! On with the Wellington boots and ‘armed’ with a garden fork and my favourite secateurs I spend the whole day digging. Tough work…I store my Dahlia tubers

Squash and Pumpkin Parade
CLICK TO ENLARGE!Cucurbita maxima Duchesne 'Blue Hubbard' and 'Marina di Chioggia' are the green ones at the bottom. The yellow/orange one I think really looks like a how pumpkin should look like, it's a Pumpkin Racer F1. The rest are just small one's that I grow purely for decorations. Blue Hubbard has got this wonderful bright orange flesh, good for cooking.More about 'Blue Hubbard' in Swedish.

The Big Dig part II. The Roses
The Roses Done, 39 roses are down ready for the long rest. Det var verkligen ett slavjobb. Tungt och skitigt rent ut sagt. Längst ner i botten under själva planteringsgropen lade jag stallgödsel, ingen rolig historia, sedan jord, vatten, ros och jord igen kupat upp runt rosen. Hoppas att det blir bra. Jag är ju definitivt novis på rosor. Men man lär så länge man lever. The list of the roses in the

In - Law Weekend
In -Law Weekend in Umeå. A lot of fun, food & drink, 'relax' and walks. A visit to Gammlia and the "Egil the tug" museum. The city offers world-class art, drama, films, industries, music and research. It aims to attract more companies, break new construction records and, not least become the European Capital of Culture 2014. Umeå is one of Sweden's fastest growing cities. The average age of the

Tyra's Raspberry Jam
Each year I make a few jars of lovely raspberry jam. I pick my berries when ripe and that is in July and August here on my latitude. Then I throw them in the freezer for later use. Normally I make jams on cold, grey and rainy winter days but this last weekend I needed some lovely jam for my waffles and the shelves were empty.I have these absolutely brilliant jam jars from Italy called Quatre

The Botanical Garden of Uppsala
On our way to our ‘summerhouse’ we decided to stop at The Botanical Garden in Uppsala . Uppsala is halfway and perfect for a quick stop. Do some shopping, have lunch or do something more interesting like this time a visit to a botanical garden. Miss M and I chose to have coffee first at a very nice Café called ‘Fågelsången’. The sun was shining from a crystal clear September sky so we were able
